The Mad Melancholy Elefants took their name from a metaphor in the Dickens novel Hard Times, describing the seemingly unstoppable activity of factory machinery in the worst bowels of 1850's industrial England. Their music is an eclectic mix ranging from psycho rap, to poignant, quasi-classical, soliloquies.
